June Deadlines

June 1 | If your school is up for a challenge, consider hosting a conference next year! Applications for hosting EITHER fall or spring conferences are due June 1. You can find information on our site about hosting!
June 1 | Looking for recognition products to introduce new members to your council or honor society in the fall? We are taking orders for a September delivery, so get yours in before June 1st! See the Shop area for an order form!
Executive Forum Presenters Needed!
Dear Advisers,
We are seeking presenters for our Executive Forum on May 12th, at the MSU Kellogg Center.
At this conference, we utilize advisers to help teach students about the positions they are taking on. We encourage you as the adviser to present with a former or outgoing student of yours from that same position so that you can share from both perspectives what is expected.
We are looking for advisers to present on the following positions:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Parliamentarian/Sergeant at Arms
We are also looking for advisers to present on the following topics:
Middle Level Conference Cancelled
Due to lack of school interest, we must cancel the Middle Level Conference on April 28th at Frankenmuth. We are working on securing a date for next spring for this same type of conference, also at the Bavarian Inn. We hope you will join us at one of our two Middle Level ONLY Fall Training Institutes scheduled for November 5 and November 11, also at the Bavarian Inn!

State Conference 08 Evaluation

Middle Level Conference Presenters Needed!
In just a few weeks, on April 28th, we bring our Middle Level Members together in Frankenmuth for a special conference designed around and for Middle School leadership students - student councils, National Junior Honor Societies and other leadership-related groups. If you have a great concept, idea, event or program that your students would like to share with the other attendees, please submit your student presentation online no later than April 21st!

Federal Character Education Grant Available
Federal Character Education Grant
Released February 14 - Due April 1
Dr. Joe Hoedel and Dr. Phil Vincent, authors of 3 previously funded federal grants, will soon write a grant for Michigan high schools. The focus of this grant will be on the freshmen transition. Specifically, they want to include 4 high-performance, 4 average-performance and 4 low-performance high schools in the state of Michigan that meet the following criteria:
1) Have a freshmen academy (school within a school concept) or would be willing to begin a freshmen academy by the 2009-2010 school year.
