MASC/MAHS Unsung Hero Award

Student leaders are made from the support of those in their building. Oftentimes, our leadership activities are built by the hands of many students who never seek recognition for themselves in the form of awards, formal leadership positions, or face to face accolades.

About the MASC/MAHS Unsung Hero Award

The MASC/MAHS Board of Delegates wants to be able to recognize the student leaders who don't have their name in lights, the ones who would do anything for a group, council, club, or class--and does it from a place of servant leadership. Each school is allowed to nominate ONE unsung hero per year, each of whom will be recognized with a certificate via mail, and invited to hear their name announced at the student state conference. The application process is simple, and the deadline is 11:59pm March 1, 2012..

How to nominate YOUR school's unsung hero!

In order to qualify for an unsung hero nomination, your school MUST be a current member of MASC/MAHS. If you are unsure about your school's membership--head to www.mascmahs.org/membership to check the current list. Since this is a school-wide honor, we encourage you to have this be a student council, leadership class, honor society JOINT decision. Consider who helps with athletic or arts events! Use your administrators or advisers for additional input to come to one school-wide decision.

The Application

In order to keep this process at it's roots, we have kept the nomination process simple. The electronic form needs ONE student or adviser from the member school to complete it. Take a look, gather your information, and nominate your unsung hero!
