Hey Middle Schools!

I hope your school is already signed up to go to one of this year’s Regional Conferences and/or State Conference…

Here is a list of 2009 Regional Conferences:

March 2 @ Oakland University, Rochester

CANCELLED: March 4 @ Kalamazoo Valley Comm. College, Kalamazoo

March 6 @ Bay De Noc College, Escanaba

March 6 @ Schoolcraft College – Radcliff Center, Westland

March 6 @ L'Anse Creuse High School

March 9 @ Saginaw Valley State University

March 16 @ Lansing Community College, Lansing

**If you are currently not signed up for a Regional Conference, the only one you could still sign up for would be on March 16 at Lansing Community College in Lansing.

Just a reminder, the State Conference is to be held at the Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City March 28 – 30. Hope you can make it – it will be a lot of fun!

Your Award of Excellence binders, including all other award applications, should have already been mailed in to MASSP’s office by February 27. I wish all of your schools luck!

Remember, this year’s goal for our State Charity is to raise “1 for 100,” which means to raise $1 from each student in at least 100 member schools. If your school hasn’t already started to fundraise for Penrickton, it isn’t too late to start now. Incorporate it in a Charity Week, or simply have a collections box in the office. Check the website for ideas for fundraising. Whatever you are able to raise, please send it in.

If your school has been fundraising or is fundraising for this year’s State Charity, Penrickton Center for Blind Children, try to get your donation in before the State Conference so that we can present Penrickton with as big a check as we can. Donations are acceptable throughout the year, though.

Also, your school is probably getting ready, or in the process, of Student Council elections. I wish all candidates the best of luck!

In Leadership,
