In a few weeks summer will be over, the bell will ring and classes will resume. Do not throw your BE goal to the wayside, but exemplify it on a daily basis. Day in and day out, in class, in the halls, in council, hanging out with friends - high school is a perfect time to decide who you want to BE and how you want to lead your life.

The average American will live until they are at least 77.5 years old, which means we will only spend .052% of our life being a high school student. Which is why you should embrace the 4 years you have. I wish everyone would realize that high school can be so much more than float building, prom decorations and spirit drums. It is a time of discovery - who do you want to BE? What do you want to do? Who will you impact? What friendships are worth holding on to? Who inspires you? What are you passionate about? How do you want to be remembered?  These are questions we should all continuously answer.

As for my BE goal, I have committed to going the distance.  I have made steps to stay connected and closer with friends and have committed to calling, texting or facebooking regularly.  And as for my running, I have created an event on facebook titled "Help me survive 13.1 miles" and invited pretty much everyone on my friends list to join.  I figure this way I'll receive support and encouragement and at the same time let everyone know that I am participating in a half marathon. This way I can't back out because then I would have to let everyone know why I am a wimp :)

How can I help you BE?
