Hey Center 9!
I am so excited to get to work with Macomb County for a second term! Along with being Center 9 rep this year, I am also serving as MASC President! For those of you who I haven't had the opportunity to meet yet, I am going to be a Senior at Fraser High School. If I'm not spending my time doing Student Council related activities I am swimming, marching, and participating in many clubs around my school. As a new school year begins I encourage you to start off with a bang! Keep posted to the MASC website for FTI's in our area. Also presidents keep your eyes open for emails about a Presidents meeting in late October! Chris and I have many ideas planned and cannot wait to get everyone on board.
As a first year board member, I am excited to be working with Center 9 this year! I am the MAHS Center Rep, partnerning up with Molly for an exciting year. For those of you who I didn't meet at Camp or States, I am going to be a Senior at L'Anse Creuse High School - North. I am President of my Student Council this year. We are currently working hard on our Homecoming. Very stressful, as I am sure many of you know. I am also Historian on my school's NHS chapter. Outside of school, I am on Catholic Youth Organization's Youth Council, serving as a leader for my peers in the Archdiocese of Detroit.
This is a real exciting year for Center 9. We hold both board presidencies, Molly (MASC) and Dan Arment (MAHS). Ike is going to do an amazing job hosting states. I encourage each of you to try to make this an exciting year in your school as well. NHS members, we want to see you more at conferences this year. Get more invovled!
As a State Board we have set a goal for schools to raise $1/student for the Penrickton Center for Blind Children, the state chairty of the year. If you have any good ideas of how to raise that money, post it in the Hall of Ideas.
FTI's are coming up. As Molly said, look on the calendar page (It's under the conferences tap at the top of the page) for FTI locations and dates. There is one in Troy on October 31st, which wouldn't be too bad of a drive, so I'd love to see you there.
Enjoy this new school year. Relax a little. Don't burn out too fast. Feel free to e-mail me: crettich@lcnstuco.org or call me: (586) 216-9471.
In leadership,
Molly Kilcline & Chris Rettich
