MASC membership does not include NASC membership. NASC membership does not include MASC membership. Let's refer to them as State (MASC) and National (NASC) to make it more clear. The State membership grants you reduced rates at all of our conferences for students and Advisers in Michigan, various communication services including an e-newsletter, exclusive access to certain areas of our website, and other benefits. The National membership grants you reduced rates at National conferences, subscription to Leadership magazine, and certain access to materials. MASC does not require our members to be members of the National office; nor does the National office require it's members to be part of the state association. You can be in either one; you can be in both.

For current membership information on both organizations, see our MEMBERSHIP page and visit the NASC website.

MAHS membership does not include NHS membership. NHS membership does not include MAHS membership. Let's refer to them as State (MAHS) and National (NHS) to make it more clear. The State membership grants you reduced rates at all MAHS conferences for students and Advisers, various communication services including an e-newsletter, exclusive access to our website, and other benefits. The National membership grants you reduced rates at National conferences, subscription to Leadership magazine, insignia, and certain access to materials.

MAHS does not require our members to be members of the National office; nor does the National office require it's members to be part of the state association. Your NHS Chapter, however, is not a legit NHS Chapter if you do not belong to NHS. You are an "Honor Society", but not a "NATIONAL Honor Society". You can be in either one; you can be in both. As a State Association, we do recommend (not require) membership in NHS for our members and for all schools operating an Honor Society.

For current membership details and pricing, please see our MEMBERSHIP page and visit the NHS website.

The Michigan Association of Honor Society supports the National and National Junior Honor Societies, however, we do not require our members to be a part of NHS or NJHS. Each school is unique in their needs and sometimes, the guidelines that the NHS or NJHS puts forth do not fit with what a particular school wants to do. MAHS provides all honor society groups, and all honors clubs, with leadership training for students and advisers, whether or not they are part of NHS/NJHS. This way, ANY school with ANY type of honors program can belong to the Michigan Association of Honor Societies.

JOIN MAHS

YES! Both groups can be members. MASC and MAHS do not put requirements on their members for procedures and policies to follow. We ask only that our members provide leadership experiences for students, and that is what we are here to help with. Each school is so incredibly unique it would be impossible to ask them all to conform to strict guidelines. We provide the same leadership training for student councils that we do for honor societies. Whether you vote, select, nominate or volunteer, if you're involved in leadership you can be part of MASC/MAHS.
