The biggest mistake an honor society adviser makes is assuming that the adviser before was doing it all the right way. While unfortunate, when an honor society chapter is "passed on" from one adviser to the next, the new adviser picks up and continues along, never questioning how or why things are done the way they are done. It is imperative that an honor society adviser understands the NHS/NJHS Constitution and how it must be carried out. The adviser needs to know that the chapter they are running is legit and meaningful.
Our Fall Honor Society Advisers' Workshop has been the number one training tool for honor society advisers from their first year to their 20th year. Covering everything from member selection to dismissal and discipline, this will help you grab hold of all the loose ends and make sense of your job as an adviser!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Our Fall Honor Society Advisers' Workshop is beneficial for any chapter adviser as well as school administrators and faculty council members. Our workshop will dive into the nuts and bolts of the constitution, your school's bylaws, the selection process, induction, discipline and dismissal, service projects, faculty council and member obligations. It is important to have a fluid connection between advisers and their administrators and the faculty council and this workshop is open to all of those that have a hand in their school's honor society chapter.
BENEFITS & CONTENT
The role of the honor society adviser is to carry-out the National Constitution and their chapter bylaws. Once students are selected and inducted as members, advisers must make the experience meaningful for the members. Chapters should engage in leadership training, service projects, school improvement and student recognition throughout the year.
