Happy New Year!! I hope that everyone had a well deserved break. I know I enjoyed having all my family come home and spending much time with them. Even though time is flying by it was well spent.
As you may already notice that the new website is up and working and has many advatnages. If you do not understand anything on this website or not sure how it works, you can ask me or just play around and you will soon realize how east this website truly is.
Down to bussiness now, many events are in our future that you may want to be aware of. With reginals right around the corner there is much to prepare for, expecially if you are goint to present. If you are presenting and are stuck with some of the material and not sure what to do I have a couple of solutions for you. You could of course emial me or anyone else on the board and we would be happy to give you our thoughts. Or you could use this website, just like the listserv, all you have to do is post the question in the hall of ideas and it will be seen by all your groups and you will get everyones feed back. Now is also the time to start regestering for the reginal conferences and the state conference as well.
Other things to look at is applying for and type of award you think your school should receive. It would only be to your advantage is to look at the applications and apply, nothing counts against you. You may not even realize what your council could achieve.
Lastly, my postition is ending faster than I want to believe and soon ther will be a election for my spot. If you are instrested than feel free to ask me any questions you have and fill out the proper applicaton form. Trust me, it is an expecerice that will stick to your for the rest of your life. However, this postion is a two year term and you must be a freshman or shophomore to run. The election itself will be held at the state conferance. I strongely encourage any to run.
