The Michigan Association of Honor Society supports the National and National Junior Honor Societies, however, we do not require our members to be a part of NHS or NJHS. Each school is unique in their needs and sometimes, the guidelines that the NHS or NJHS puts forth do not fit with what a particular school wants to do. MAHS provides all honor society groups, and all honors clubs, with leadership training for students and advisers, whether or not they are part of NHS/NJHS. This way, ANY school with ANY type of honors program can belong to the Michigan Association of Honor Societies.
Our school's honor society doesn't follow the NHS or NJHS Constitution - is that okay? Can they still be members of MAHS?
