Teams Supporting Teams!

Athletics are very important in our building. Student Council has a committee called “Teams Supporting Teams” that honors all sports teams in our football hallway. This committee is in charge if banner making, team gifts, and paying attention to important game dates. This activity gives each athette a small gift from student council delivered to their classroom during their season. We try to get gift delivered to the players on a game day or before a big tournament. We designated an area in our school where we hang all our sports banners. This is where each team gets their own banner, which usually has the names of the players on banner. For example, the banner will say Go Eisenhower Basketball and we will have smaller basketballs with the last names of the players on the team hung on the banner. Gift ideas can range from Swedish fish for the swim team or Cookies by Design footballs for the football team. Gatorade is also a great gift idea and keeps the coaches happy since they do not like the players having junk food on game day. When the dance team went to nationals, in Florida they all got goodie bags with bobby pins, hair ties, gum, sunscreen, and hairspray. Although goodie bags may run you a few extra dollars, you can easily save money by ordering gifts in bulk and ahead of time. Pom poms and thundersticks are always great goodie bag fillers and you can never go wrong with those. This is a simple and easy way to really make the team feel special and helps brighten their day.

Are you going to FTI's?

Hey Center 9...

FTI's are coming up soon and I just wanted to see who all is going. I personally will be at the Troy FTI's on October 31 as well as a couple of the Frankenmuth sessions. This is a great opportunity for first and second year members to get a grasp on everything and have fun doing so. If you are not yet planning on going, but your advisors about it! :) Hope to see you and your school there!
