Student Showcase
This is what student leadership is all about.
Student Showcase gives your team the opportunity to present a real program, event, or initiative that is making an impact in your school.
You’re not presenting ideas – you’re showcasing what’s already working.
And in the process, your students build one of the most valuable leadership skills there is: the ability to clearly communicate and present their work to others.

What Makes Showcase Powerful
This isn’t a typical presentation. It’s students teaching students.
Every session becomes a space where:
- Ideas are shared
- Strategies are stolen (in a good way)
- And schools leave better than they came
What You’ll Present
Your team will build a 40-minute session centered around a real program or initiative.
Strong presentations typically include:
- The need your program addressed
- How the idea was created
- How the program actually works (logistics + structure)
- Results, impact, or data
- Reflection + what you would improve
- Audience Q&A
Simple rule: If another school can walk out and run your idea, you nailed it.
Presentation Format
- 40-minute session
- Teams of 2–4 students
- Includes a short interactive opener (icebreaker)
- Supported by a presentation (PowerPoint, google slides, etc.)
Path to the State Conference
Student Showcase is a statewide competition.
At each Regional SUPER Connect:
- Attending schools vote on the top presentations of the day
- Additional top scores are selected using a standardized evaluation rubric
Top teams advance to the State Conference, where they present in front of 2,000+ student leaders from across Michigan
What Students Walk Away With

- A chance to take the stage at the State level
Quick Logistics
- Register your presentation at least one week prior to your Regional event
- Projector, computer and screen will be provided onsite (many teams bring your presentation on your own device (do not rely on WiFi)
- Presentations are uploaded and shared as resources for schools across the state
- After submitting your presentation online, you are good to go!
- Once onsite at your Regional Connect event, check-in and receive your showcase time slot and presentation room

Showcase Voting for the State Conference
At each Regional SUPER Connect, Student Showcase is part of a statewide competition.
During the closing session:
- Each school receives two voting tokens
- Tokens are cast for the top two presentations they experienced throughout the day
- Votes are tallied onsite, and the top two audience-selected teams are announced live
In addition, all presentations are evaluated by the Michigan Student Board of Delegates using a standardized rubric.
Top-scoring presentations across all Regional events are also selected to advance.
Together, these selections determine the teams who earn the opportunity to present at the State Conference in front of 2,000+ student leaders from across Michigan.
