2027 Award Deadline: January 20th
The Tonya Charity of the Year Award recognizes a MASC/MAHS member school that demonstrates an exceptional commitment to service through its support of the annual MASC/MAHS Michigan Student Leadership Charity of the Year.
Established by the Student Board of Delegates in 2002, the award honors former MASC/MAHS Director Tonya Chmielewski, who served the Association from 1997–2001 and was a strong advocate for connecting student leadership with meaningful statewide service.
Each year, member schools are encouraged to support the selected Charity of the Year through fundraising, awareness efforts, service projects, and other student-led initiatives. The Tonya Charity of the Year Award celebrates the school that best demonstrates creativity, commitment, student involvement, and overall impact in support of the statewide charity.
