2027 Award Deadline: January 20th
The MASC/MAHS Unsung Hero Award recognizes the student leaders who make a difference without seeking the spotlight.
These are the students who consistently show up, support others, take on the work that needs to be done, and make their organization, school, or community stronger; often without a formal title or public recognition.
Each member school may nominate one student per year who represents the spirit of an Unsung Hero. Nominees should be students whose leadership is demonstrated through their actions, reliability, service to others, and willingness to contribute wherever they are needed.
Who Should Be Nominated?
Strong nominees may be students who:
- Consistently support their peers and organization
- Lead through their actions rather than their title
- Take initiative and follow through on responsibilities
- Contribute behind the scenes to the success of others
- Demonstrate service, character, and commitment to their school community
- Make a meaningful impact without seeking recognition
Because this is intended to be a school-wide recognition, we encourage student council, leadership classes, honor societies, and other student organizations to collaborate when selecting their nominee.
Each school may submit one nominee annually, and previous Unsung Hero Award recipients are not eligible to receive the award again.
