The Award of Excellence is the highest honor a member organization can earn from MASC/MAHS Michigan Student Leadership. This prestigious recognition celebrates student organizations that demonstrate excellence in leadership, organization, member development, service, school and community impact, and intentional program growth.
Earning the Award of Excellence represents more than completing a list of activities. It reflects a student organization that operates with purpose, develops its members, serves others, sets meaningful goals, and makes a positive contribution to its school community.
How It Works
Organizations complete the Award of Excellence rubric throughout the school year, documenting their work across the required areas. Submissions should include the requested evidence and supporting materials outlined within the rubric.
Completed applications are reviewed by MASC/MAHS using the published award criteria.

Before you begin your application:
There are two different AOE applications. A traditional application used by student councils and Honor Societies and another application specifically for student leadership classes. Please ensure you click on the correct application before you begin.
2020 Award of the Excellence Application
This application is the traditional Award of Excellence, used by student councils and honor societies.
2020 Award of Excellence Student Leadership Course Application
This application is specific for those groups involved in student leadership courses, with different rubrics aligned and specific to your course work

The Award of Excellence applications are much more than an award. These tools cover standards and structure of excellence student programs and should be used to gain a better understanding of how to make adjustments and improvements to your current student group.
