MI Student Voice Competition

Michigan Student Voice (MSV)

Take the Stage. Share Your Voice. Inspire the State.

Michigan Student Voice is a high-impact speaking experience where students take the stage to share ideas that matter.

In just a few minutes, students have the opportunity to inspire, challenge, and connect with peers from across Michigan—while building real confidence as speakers and leaders.

For schools, MSV elevates student voice in a powerful, visible way—creating moments that stick with students long after the event ends.

Top presenters from each Regional event advance to the State Conference, taking the main stage in front of 2,000+ student leaders across the state.

The Format

All MSV presentations follow a universal format:

  • 10 image-based slides
  • 20 seconds per slide (auto-advancing)
  • Total time: 3 minutes, 20 seconds

Built to keep presentations fast, focused, and engaging.

What to Present

Topics are open-ended, but should be personal, meaningful, and relevant to student experiences.

How to Participate

To be considered for a Regional SUPER Connect:

  • Record your presentation in one continuous take (no edits)
  • Speaker must be visible with slides clearly shown
  • Submit a public video link through the MSV form

All submissions are reviewed, and selected students will be assigned a presentation slot at their Regional event.

Key Guidelines

  • Submit at least one week prior to your Regional event
  • Each event hosts up to 8 presentations
  • Limit 2 submissions per school (additional may be accepted if space allows)
  • Spots are filled first come, first served

THE CHALLENGE:
Every school has a story, but the next issue hasn’t been written yet.

Identify one part of your school or organization’s story that you believe needs to change, grow or become stronger.

Then, share the leadership strength you bring to the story and how you will use it to help move your community forward.

YOUR ISSUE SHOULD REVEAL:

  • The Story So Far: What is happening in your school or community right now?
  • The Challenge: What needs to change, grow or become stronger?
  • Your Superpower: What leadership strength do you bring?
  • The Next Page: How can you use that strength to help create what happens next?

Hero Status: All students eligible.
Submission Deadline: 1 week prior to your Regional event.
