Student Leadership Collaboration with Dance Marathon at the University of Michigan
Who we are
DMUM is a student-run nonprofit organization at the University of Michigan that raises funds and awareness for pediatric programs at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Despite the name, we are not a dance group! Our student leadership body works closely with the community to support pediatric therapists through volunteering and fundraising, all to benefit the “Little Victors” – the young patients at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Our committee, K-12 Engagement, works specifically to connect students across Michigan with Dance Marathon by facilitating the planning and execution of various charity events in support of our shared mission.
What you can do
We would love to partner with your school to spread the mission of DMUM! This partnership could include various charity events such as coin stalls, dodgeball tournaments, selecting DMUM as your charity week recipient, or any other fundraising ideas you have in mind!
What else?
We want to ensure that if you choose to work with us this year, our partnership will be mutually beneficial. As upperclassmen at the University of Michigan we would be excited to provide opportunities for your students to ask questions about college, admissions, essay writing, and more. In addition, throughout the school year, DMUM hosts various community engagement events that students, parents, and administrators from your school are welcome to attend!
What we would provide
If you’re able to participate we will work in close partnership with your students to help with:
- Brainstorming ideas for your event
- Recruiting your students and families
- Raising awareness about your event
- Setting fundraising and participation goals
- Creating a timeline
If you are interested in working with us or want to hear more, please let us know by emailing the K-12 Engagement Committee at dmum.k12engagement@umich.edu and would love to meet with you!
